That's one word I would say that doesn't appear in my every day vocabulary. Lately, it has been replaced with [unmotivated]. Not good AT ALL. I have decided to change that...

1. On my 21st birthday I had decided to take a break from my weight loss journey. BIG MISTAKE! Huge, actually. I should of never done that. It's only been three months and I have gained 28 lbs back. Weight Watchers will know me again and I will get that 28 pounds & more off in no time.

2. School. What's that? Yeah it's how I have been feeling. All last year it was like I had a whole year off and it's just really hard to get back into the swing of things. Before the semester started I CAN'T WAIT FOR SCHOOL TO START was all I ever said. Let me tell you, I regret those words. Now I CAN'T WAIT FOR WINTER BREAK TO GET HERE has been said many twice an hour since August 25th.

3. My to do list is at least 25 things long. I am slowly checking those things off. SLOWLY is the keyword. I recently cleaned out my car. It took me about 45 minutes. I live out of my car, no joke. The car needed it. But what I was proud of was that I was able to cross it off my to do list. Once I did that motivation came back into my every day vocabulary and unmotivated went BYE BYE!

There are people who go to their regular restaurant, there are people who go to their regular cleaners; doctors; coffee shop. Then you have a person like April who goes to their regular photographer, which would be me. This is the third time I have had the pleasure of working with her and will be working with her again in November (Can't wait!)

April has three precious girls: Athena, Caitlin and Carlie. They all have different color eyes and completely different personalities, but all them of them are great in their each and own way.

Athena is four years and couldn't be cuter. We both like silly bands. She even shows them off to the camera. Caitlin is seven years old and is a complete diva. When she is old enough she will have all of the boys attention, she is just so pretty. Carlie just started middle school and she loves it. These three girls are a bundle of fun and I love every opportunity I have to photograph them!

These past few weeks have been some of the best times of my life. I traveled to Vegas. I started a new school. I gots me an amazing boyfriend. (Yes I did say I gots... he will get it >>:-op ) Not only have they been the best times of my life, they have also been some of the craziest and busiest times.

I was in Vegas for a week. It was hot! But not humid, which was something new to experience. People from Bawlmore know that it is humid! You can drench your shirt in sweat just walking to the mailbox, no matter how close it is! My aunt and I stayed in the Luxor on the strip. I was completely happy with the room! I got to gamble. But you wanna know a secret? It's not all that. I spent more money at the outlet than on the slot machines. Hey! I got some cute things! I would show you pictures, but I didn't carry my camera around with me at all. I think I am going to buy a point & shoot really soon. Does any one have any suggestions? I would prefer something I can put into my pocket or purse and just be on my way. I LOVEEEE My DSLR. I am extremely blessed to have it, but it's too heavy to carry leisurely when walking around for 10 hours or going to a party. My BlackBerry doesn't take the best of pictures. Over all though, Vegas was super fun. I saw Cirque Du Soleil and Lance Burton. Worth all of the money. Lance Burton is retiring in September. I was really glad to see him when I got the chance! If you ever go to Vegas, make sure you visit the outlets :]

Yesterday, I started Towson. Organic Chemistry. Physics 2. Introduction to Non-Western Art. I am screaming on the inside as I write that. Oh did I mention this: 116 KIDS IN MY PHYSICS 2 CLASS! I am looking forward to the classes and I have honestly missed the homework, but I will not have a life for the next 16 weeks. Who wants to be study partners?!

Now on to my favorite part of this blog. I gots me a boyfriend! Cory is his name and writing is his game. And making me happy, haha. Have you ever thought people could laugh too much? Nah me either, but we do laugh A LOT. Maybe every 30 seconds when we are together. Best part is that he lives just 10 minutes away. Hmmm, let's see. He supports my photography, he likes Sushi, slurpees and has Michael Buble on his iPod. I think I gots my self a winner with this one. You will see how yummy he is in a few.

I have been getting wedding inquiries out the ying yang. I LOVE IT! Keep them coming please! These past few weeks I have done a couple of sessions and just haven't blogged them. I know I should be more disciplined. But I try to focus on getting some images on Facebook, tagging the clients and getting the images edited to them. Blogging can always come later! Here's a sneak peak of what I have been up to!

Last year I was contacted by Lindsay. She messaged me on Facebook telling me she loved my work and she was passing my name to her engaged sister. I was ecstatic. Not even in the business a couple months and I got my second wedding inquiry! I got in contact with Elissa and Kevin. We set up a time and place to meet to go over details, blah blah blah. A few days ago the three of us went to Ft McHenry to shoot the engagement session. And let tell you, overcast days are the perfect time to photograph two people who are so incredibly in love. Day 2 - 363 To Go...

I've been waiting for this day for 6 weeks. The count down starting in Weight Watchers. My leader comes in the meeting saying, "Who's gonna do the 5k?!" At first I wasn't too thrilled. But eventually I decided to go along and do it!

I was afraid before and afraid after. I was afraid before because I was afraid I wasn't going to finish. I was afraid for after as well. I WAS GOING HURT! Let me tell you. I don't hurt that bad. I am exhausted, and my knee hurts. Good news, my mom and I are planning to do another one in the fall.

Day 1 - 364 To Go!

Today's picture is a huge deal for me.

On March 16th, I saw Michael Buble for the second time in my life. This time Ashley and I were in the 14th row from the stage. If I sneezed, he would of felt it. When I went to this concert, I was 6 weeks into Weight Watchers. I am now on week 19. I wanted to set a goal for myself. Buy a shirt a few sizes too small for me then. Work for it to fit later on.

Well people, IT FITS! And here is proof, picture number 1.

Starting a 365...

I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad. Let's say it is a goal. In the past few months, everything has changed about me. I have lost 40 pounds, got a boyfriend and this business as sky rocketed. There are so many more things to happen, I can feel it. Well in the next year, I know things will change. So why not photograph my self along the way? In the next year I will be at my goal weight so from Day 1 to Day 365 - the pictures will be completely night and day.

Yes I will have to set a reminder. Yes I will not be inspired every day. Yes I will want to give up probably a week after I start. No I will not though. I have tried to do this before. I failed. NOT AGAIN.

This time I will finish, I also hope to write about what has gone on in my day for that picture as well! Wish me luck and give me the support. Because everyone knows I will need it :]

My 365 will start on June 5, 2010 and end on June 5, 2011. Also during this next year I hope to accomplish many many things on my 101 in 1001 Days list.

Thursday Thoughts

So this screen has been up for the best 3 hours. I kinda knew what I was I going to talk about but extremely side tracked. This has the first day in a very long time that I have been able to just sit in front of the computer and "surf the web". It's relaxing. Surfing the web helps me think about a lot of different things. The internet can be a dangerous place. I'll be looking at a blog and then I'll be somewhere completely different. It's really fun, except if you should be editing images or doing some kind of homework. That's when it is called PROCRASTINATION! I fear that word.

Another note on the internet... It's very mysterious :] When Christine contacted me about engagement images, she mentioned I was on the top of Google. WAIT?! WHAT????!!! I had to Google it myself... and let me tell you - I WAS ON THERE! So I then started to Google other things. I was the very first link at the top of the page for Baltimore Wedding Photography! COULD. NOT. BELIEVE. IT! Here's proof:

I joined this group on Flickr and there was a thread about how to go about this, but I never thought it would work! I now have seven sessions and a wedding before the end of the month! That's how many I have last year (Aug to Dec) ALONE! It's so incredibly excited and I just feel so lucky to be where I am. I really like things are finally going according to plan! I am in the process of rebranding my business and getting a new blogsite. Everything should be done by my birthday, which is July 30th :]

And speaking of my birthday... I only need to loose 16 more lbs to get to one of my major goals! When I started Weight Watchers one of my big goals was to loose 50 pounds by the time I turned 21. It has been 15 weeks and 34 lbs-even gone forever! I honestly think I can do and I definitely plan on getting it accomplished as well :]

BFLA Bags!

Measuring boobs. It's what I do besides photography. I absolutely love my job. Not because I measure boobs. Because of who I work with. One day while work was slow, I was listening to the short commercial over the radio... "ask for a professional bra fit..."

I am a professional bra fitter.

So of course, me being me, I said that we should start the Bra Fitters League of America (BFLA). Genius? I think so. Now getting back to the lovely people I work with. Melanie and I got these purple bags for donating money through our job. As soon as we got them we both thought BFLA BAGS! We have had these bags for a couple of months and we finally got around to decorating them yesterday.

For this next part, I don't know how it start or even care because it is so funny. Melanie is president of the BFLA and I am the Queen. So when we decorating our bags we had put our titles on them. Yes we are 20 and 22, but who cares? We had so much fun! If Melanie ever leaves this job, I will cry. Like a baby.

While we waited for our bags to dry, Melanie and I went to the rotating sushi bar. That was the coolest place (and most dangerous) I have ever been to! You could spend a lot of money in that place! Going around the bar is a conveyer belt that has plates of sushi. I wanted them all! Sushi is my favorite food ever. After the bar, Mel and I went back to her place. We got Greg and his friend Jared to play Pictionary Man with us, they won :[ Then we went to Friendly's. I was incredibly proud of myself. I didn't get any ice cream! I am weighing in tomorrow.

It was my sophomore year, his junior year. Maybe we met in the hallway putting together homecoming decorations, I believe. It's a little rough now. But as soon as we met, we became really close. The next two years were amazing. SGA at North County will never be the same with out us. Ryan went off to college and naturally we grew apart. We still talk and catch up, especially when we have a session. His sessions last a little longer because I talk ALOT, haha. This time he wanted to get some shots on a set of rail road tracks. We didn't find those, but something totally more awesome...

Full time school. 35 hours a week. Maintaining a photography business. Trying to spend time with friends and family. Loosing weight and exercising.

I was once the queen on procrastination. No more. I have way to much going on in my life to do that. There is no more of staying up late and waking up at 10AM. I woke up at 8 this morning, ate breakfast and worked out. Started to do homework, after this blog I am going to try and clean my disaster of room. Life for me, never seems to stop. From the time I wake up until I go to sleep.

It's helping with loosing the weight though. I have lost 14.6 LBS! Whoop, gotta give a big shout out to Weight Watchers and The Biggest Loser work out DVD's. I have only lost 14.6 pounds and have a 1234567654 more to go, but I am getting more and more confidence every day! Once I have lost my weight, I plan on getting portraits done and buying a whole new wardrobe of course :]

This past Saturday, I was working late. Tired! I got home and saw a very big envelope from Towson University. I gasped a little. I knew what was going to be inside, but this envelope made it very official! I'm so excited! Yes, I am still afraid to grow up. But I do feel like I am going places for the first time in a very long time!

My Second Love

If I weren't going to be a photographer, I honestly believe I would be an interior designer. & that is not any interior designer. I would an interior designer, using Ikea products. I go to Ikea every two months or so. I speed at least $50 on odds and ends that are needed in my house: glasses, a giant metal bowl, a lint roller or a scrub brush. Basically, completely random things. Most of these things are used by my mother and once in a while by me.

Everything I would go to Ikea, I would go buy the computer desks and say out loud, "I'm going to buy a huge big desk when I get my iMac." When I got my computer back in October, I went got a huge big desk from Ikea. This trip was full of joy because I was going to Ikea actually shopping for furniture. But while I was there I fell completely in love with these book shelves. They are white with orange writing all over them. My favorite color is orange, so that is a definite that I was going to get these book shelves.

Well I got them. Three months later. They are right next to my huge big desk! I am not completely don't setting up the bookshelves but here is a little preview of what they look like. Don't they just scream FUNNNNNNN!!!!

"I Can't Wait Until I Am 30!"

Probably since I was 15, I always said "I can't wait until I am 30!" I wanted to live in New York City, San Francisco and London! I couldn't wait until I was completely independent. I had my whole life planned & I even knew what kind of dog I wanted & what I was going to name them. In high school, I was ready to move on. Ready for college, ready for the real world. I had my 20 year plan. I knew everything, from the time I wanted to graduate college and the time I wanted to fall in love. Some of that 20 year plan has changed. I wanted to be a pharmacist, now I aiming towards the goal of being a successful photographer. I do want to marry when I am 30. I still do not want to have children. I still want those English Bulldogs. (This is for you [future] Louie and Betsy!)

Since I didn't get into that college I applied for I went to AACC, the local community college and one of the best in the country. AACC showed me what I really want to do in life and what I have for my back up plan in life. AACC showed me how to use a camera manually & that pharmacy school seems to either be for the extremely rich or the extremely intelligent. I am neither. I'm sticking with my major in Chemistry, but aiming for that life-long photography career.

So today I had a conversation with my friend, "I'm scared of moving on in life. I like it where I am in life right now." I have always wanted to grow up. Now I don't want to and I am extremely scared to grow up. Some might say I am an adult, but in my eyes I'm not an adult until I am completely independent. I'm currently waiting for my letter from that next big step in my life: going from a 2-year school to a 4-year school. Honestly I am terrified of that big campus and thousands of people. I'm perfectly content and extremely happy with where I am in life at this moment.

In the next month, my life is going to change. I am not sure if it will be a good change or a bad, but no matter what I am ready to grab on and let this life of my mine take me on a crazy and wild ride. As I always say, blogs are boring without a picture. This is Nathaniel. He was ten days old when this was taken. This blog is for him because he has nothing to worry about quite yet :]

So today was a really lazy Sunday. I did nothing but edit pictures and play Farmville. Don't laugh, it's a very serious addiction. Someone somewhere might have to open a rehab house just for Farmville - it's just that serious. :] Anyway. I also experience with making slideshows today. I must tell you that I had much success and I will definitely do this for every session in the near and far future!

This past year was absolutely amazing. I did incredible things, met incredible people and had the time of my life! I know that 2010 will bring even more for me. The most important part of 2009 was actually starting a photography business. Erin Whitney Photography was born in July of 2009. Ever since then I have had the opportunity to meet and photograph just amazing people, I just don't know how 2010 will be able to top this past year. I do love surprises though.

With the new year, I wanted to make Erin Whitney Photography the best it has ever been. I've decided to make packages and sell prints for clients. These past six months, I feel as if clients weren't getting everything out of a session. Most of the time they would purchase a CD and go to a generic store to purchase prints. But with me you will get professional quality prints, once you see these prints, you will never go to WalMart or CVS again.

Oh how I love the Christmas time: decorating the tree, going to Walmart for five hours for a roll of tape, making cookies, wrapping presents & the list goes on and on! This past week, we decorated the Christmas and made cookies! The picture above is an ornament hanging on our very pretty Christmas tree! I love our Christmas oh so very much! Each year my mom tends to buy a few more ornaments to add to the wonderful collection, but I always enjoy putting those ornaments that my mom has had since she was little a girl. There is even one from when she was in PreSchool. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside! My brother and I usually alternate putting the star on top of the tree, and like each year we don't ever remember who puts it on the year before. (He put it on this year :])

The other day my mom and I made cookies (and I made a mess)! They went super fast but only because I made them special! & not because of drugs, but because of love! I told my mom "These are my special cookies!" She says, did you put drugs in them?! Don't you just love the faith, lol. I hope you all have a happy and safe holiday!

So many things are planned for 2010 already and it isn't even December yet! I'm extremely excited for everything that is going on and what is going to happen!

Starting on January 1st, prices will increase! Do not worry! You will receive so much more out of a session, including prints and an option of receiving a CD. There are going to be different packages to choose from! I'm extremely excited! Also throughout 2010 there will special opportunities to receive discounts and special offers! Check back often! The price changes are only affective if you book a session on/after January 1st, 2010! Also to insure you have a date and time booked with me, there will a 50% deposit required when booking. Anna & Travis | COUPLE SESSION

Travis is a Marine and stationed on Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. Anna goes to Washington College on the Eastern Shore. They see each other every weekend. Travis drives 12+ hours each weekend. That's love right there. When we started the session, I told them it was going to be a date but with a camera. They automatically started to kiss and hug each other! That's love right there.

Anna and I met in high school through SGA. We attended different MASC conferences, workshops, etc. She has been nothing but a sweetheart the entire time I have known her! So of course I was ecstatic when she asked me to photograph her and her boyfriend. Then again with her family. (Blog tomorrow!)

101 in 1001 Updates | PERSONAL

So a lot of things have happened to me this past week! I have bought a new camera, it broke and I got it fixed. I got my Halloween costume settled and you will see that on Saturday! It's pretty rad!

A few months ago, my mom and I cleaned out our living room because it was just building up junk. I told my mom that I could put it some work. I set my "studio" and I knew it needed something else! My studio wasn't going to be complete until I got my self a little office to the side. I finally got it two days ago! 13. Buy a 24” Mac Desktop! It isn't a 24", because like my camera, t hat model has been discontinued. Now Apple sells 21.5" and 27". When my mom and I walked into the store and I looked at the screens, I was not drawn to the 27" at all. It was TOO big. I had to stand four feet away to actually see the whole screen. It wasn't fun. I was glad though because I wanted the 27" when looking at them online. I am perfectly happy with my 21.5", 1 TB, iMac!

On to the next item of business. 71. Make a new account on Flickr and upload everyday for a year (0/365). I started up my Flickr account. I haven't been posting everyday, but now I will start. This goal is a pretty big one for me. I tried to do this before and it was EXTREMELY hard, but honestly it is just an excuse. I can take five minutes out of the day to pick a picture and put it on my flickr account. But I am glad to say I have started one. Please feel free to make me a contact here!

It's been 29 days since I have started my 101 in 1001 days. Since then I have no ate Mickie D's! So I can say I have 171 days to go to achieve that goal!

When I wrote my list, I never thought I would keep up with it this much! I must say I am pretty proud of my self!

When clients show me new venues to photograph I love it! I am exposed to something completely new and it's somewhere I can photograph in the future! Katherine wanted to do her session at the Loch Raven Reservoir. I had no idea where that was, but was I so amazed to see it when I got there! The scene looks like something from West Virginia and right down the street was Towson University. It was a sight to see! Katherine was so much fun. We talked and laughed the entire time! I had a hard time picking my favorites to blog.

When you see two people look at each and smile that special smile, you know they are in love! When Ashley walked down that, Nick's smile lit up the whole world. You can tell these two really love each other sincerely. Since the first time I met Ashley, and she told me all the details - I couldn't wait to photograph her and Nick's wedding! Their wedding night was absolutely stunning and I am extremely grateful to be apart of it!

Do you ever want to just stop and wish you could breath for five minutes, then realize you don't have the time?! I do! I have been feeling like that for past three weeks! I have started and completed many things on my 101 in 1001 list!

Let's start with 9. Buy a D300. When I made this list, I didn't realize that the D300 was being discontinued and the D300s was being released. So instead of buying a D300, I purchased the upgrade - D300s. This is the exact same camera except it has video! It is pretty sweet! When I got this camera - I didn't have much time to play with it, going to work and school seven days a week. So when I finally got around to really using it, I realized that the data green light on the back of the camera wouldn't stop flashing. It would kill my battery. I ended up taking it back and they easily exchanged it for me! If you live in the Baltimore area, I highly recommend you going Service Photo, to purchase photography equipment. So I can happily say I own a professional camera now. [This picture was taken with my Storm]

It was a lovely Sunday evening. I just got home from work and was editing the pictures from Stacy and John's one year anniversary session. When the worse thing could of happened; a virus/spyware infested my computer. I had over 10,000 pictures on my computer. When I realized what was going on with my computer, I tried to get my pictures off of my computer. I plug my external hard drive to my computer and quickly get my pictures off and BAM! My computer dies. My mom and I try to get back on for the next 24 hours. We try everything. We finally got it back on. I got my pictures off, hoping that whatever is on my computer doesn't get on my external HD. My uncle fixes it. I start to edit Stacy and John's pictures, I have fifty more pictures to do (that equals maybe 45 minutes) and my computer dies again. I don't know why. Or how it did. I couldn't even get it back on like my mom and I did. It has been over a week, and I am extremely stressed. I have four 4 GB memory cards full of pictures in RAW format. I can't even look at them on my brother's computer. It's stressful. I wish the Apple heavens would open up and just give me an iMac at this moment. For those who are waiting for pictures, thank you for being patient. I will work efficiently, night and day, as soon as I get my computer back and have the right programs running.

Blog's are rather boring without a picture. So here yah go.

While I am procrastinating on my daily, long To Do list, I usually look around the intra-net. I look through blogs, websites, anything really to get some inspiration. Well one day, I came across Think Pink Photography. Think Pink Photography was founded in October 2007 to support individuals and their families who have been touched by breast cancer. It is a charitable organization that serves two main purposes – celebrating life and supporting the cause.

Through our professional photographer network, we are helping breast cancer patients to celebrate life with charitable photography sessions. Individuals may choose to document their fight against the disease before or during treatment, or prefer to capture their victory by scheduling a session within 12 months after treatment is completed. There is no cost or obligation to the breast cancer patient. Clients participating in a Think Pink Session will receive a complimentary photo session, as well as a set of 10 small prints from the session. They will also receive a discount on any additional portraits they wish to purchase, although there is absolutely no purchase required at any time.

Guilty Pleasures

Sleeping In. Double Stuffed Oreos. Sushi.

Those are just three of my guiltiest pleasures. I hardly ever sleep in. My body is just use to waking up at 8:30 now. But today was a bit different! I woke up and the clock said 10 o'clock! I was so happy. I do like getting up a bit earlier because I always have so much to do. But what is so great about this blog post is that I can cross number 84 off of my list. Yes this post is about guilty pleasures, but today I do not feel guilty about waking up past 8:30. My body feels refreshed and I am ready to start the day off with a smile!

Double Stuffed Oreos and sushi are also on the list but for completely different reasons. DS Oreos are so good. That is one thing I could eat every day. But it is so unhealthy for you. As soon as it goes into my mouth, I say yummy... oh this is not good for me. That's why my mom doesn't bring those into the house. That is the one cookie I can never get enough of. As for sushi, it's my favorite food EVER! But when I spend $15 on a meal, that I don't even full off of, I think that I could of used that money for camera equipment. Two seconds after that I think, but it is so yummy! Sushi is another one of those foods I could eat everyday! Philly and Dragon roll = YUMMINESS!

Stacy & John Hostler!

On September 21, 2008 at Herrington on the Bay, Stacy Zimmerman and John Hostler were married! Exactly one year later, they still love each other as much as they ever did! Stacy asked me to accompany them back to Herrington on the Bay for their one year anniversary! Just by looking at the pictures you can tell how much they are in love with each other! I am sure they will have many more to come! Also, if you are getting married and need a venue, check out Herrington on the Bay, it is absolutely gorgeous!

Ashley & Dave contacted me about photographing their nephew, for Dave's mom's birthday! I was delighted! They decided to go to Lake Waterford. Since Johnathan is only five, we all knew he would love the playground. And of course he loved it! He only ever had a smile on his face! Johnathan is definitely the cutest five year old I have ever seen!

Ashley contacted me after I photographed Stephanie. I was more than delighted! We decided to go to Lake Waterford in Pasadena. Ashley is definitely photogenic! We had a lot of fun! I was kind of really excited to do this session because I decided to shoot the entire session in RAW format rather than JPEG. Let me tell you, it makes a HUGE difference. RAW for life :)

When you think of love, what do you see?... take your time. Well I see Mariah & Gregg. Gregg looks at Mariah like she is the only person on the entire Earth. School has started and I am already super busy! I am working on the last couple sessions, editing the pictures and putting them in the galleries.

This past week I had a lovely session with my cousin Mariah and her boyfriend Greg. This is my favorite picture from the entire session.

You can just tell from this one picture how much Greg loves her.

I am super busy right now, school is starting and I am working on my new website! I can not wait until it is all done, hopefully by Saturday. I am working with Portfoliositez. I have no experience with websites, and their customer service is out of this world! For anyone who is interested in having a photography portfolio, they are the ones to go to!

Attractive, outgoing and enthusiastic are just a few words to describe Stephanie! She is definitely one of a kind. She wanted to have her pictures done at the beach. It was my first time shooting there and definitely won't be the last.

I met Stephanie in high school and every single time we get together, it is full of laughter and good times! The high light of this afternoon was trying to figure out what a she-wolf is. If anyone knows, please let me know!

Strobes and Make Up...

... equals a fun session with Ryan and Jasmine!! Ryan wanted to do more of a posed, make up, scary session! We went to Historic Ellicott City, perfect place! Ryan and Jasmine wanted to capture a scary storyline through photographs & of course, I was more than happy to help.

Ryan wanted to play a killer, a scary one to put, and Jasmine was his victim. Jasmine looked gorgeous in her brand new white dress and her cute tennis shoes. Ryan accomplished his goal! He in deed looked scary with his crazy make up and ripped clothes!

For this session I decided to whip out my strobe light. I don't like using it because I am not a genius in that area of photography. Most of the time I end not liking the pictures at all. They are either WAYYYYYYYYYY to bright or WAYYYYYYYYY to dark. I am more of a natural lighting girl.

Since Ryan and Jasmine wanted more of a scary, haunted look I decided to texture and sepia up the pictures! Let me know what you think :)

Bethany's Session

What other place to photograph a HUGE Orioles fan? Silly, Fells Point of course! Bethany is a girl with bright blue, red hair and freckles (& she isn't even Irish!), that only happens maybe 1 out 104202943592 kids! I was excited to photograph her. She wore her Orioles jersey and went to town! I give her props for wearing it on such a muggy day! We both stuck (or sweat) it out & the pictures turned out amazing:

This past weekend my family came over to go swimming and play cards. Don't worry, I didn't lose too much! Caden was here, of course. He will be eight months old at the end of the month! He is the first baby in the family for a long time. So I am super excited! He is crawling! :) So I photographed him and had to do it fast because he is probably the world's fastest crawler!!

He is already modeling for the camera :)

My favorite first job was working at Cold Stone and that was three years ago. While I was there I met Trakera. Since then we have been friends. Trakera is one of those girls who doesn't care what other people think about them and that is exactly how I am, so of course we get along!

Emily & I photograph Jen!

There is one thing that I could do everyday & that is photograph my friends with other friends! This is exactly what I got the chance to do. Jen, the model & Emily, the photographer. Emily is leaving for the Eastern shore very, very soon. I am terribly sad [that is a totally different blog] and hopefully will be able to visit her sometime between now and Thanksgiving. I decided that this event was a must before Emily left.

So on Tuesday, trying to fight out the rain, we went to Annapolis and made Jen feel like a movie star with our cameras and strobes. Emily used the strobed more then I did. But it was fun all-round. All day long I kept looking at weather.com, I was so scared. The site said rain at 2 PM in Annapolis. Thank goodness it did not rain until 8, when we were leaving.

Overall, the photography, the people and sushi made the night I will probably never forget! The above picture is Emily shooting Jen on one the coolest walls. I loved the white paint over the green!

Ryan's Birthday Party

One of my best friends from high school recently had his 21st birthday party. Ryan had the theme Mardi Gras. Requirement was to wear a mask! And let me tell you there were some crazy ones! I also rented a 17-35mm F/2.8 lens. It made a big difference, but it was too heavy for my little D40x :)

Sunday Book Club with Erin (001)

American Wife - Curtis Sittenfeld

This book very long and personally I like when books are longer, I don't get to the end as fast. I have read another book by Curtis Sittenfeld, which was the same way. Sittenfeld made me fall in love with Alice. Sittenfeld takes us through Alice's entire life. I liked the feeling of getting to know someone inside to out. Alice went through a lot in the beginning of her and it didn't stop her from living a successful life.

Sittenfeld modeled Alice around Laura Bush, who will be a memorable first lady. In the book, Alice's rating was 94% compared to her husband, Charlie, which was 34%. Pretty true to real life. :)

While there were many points to this book that I was in love with, the end of the book where Alice is in the White House, was boring. There was 200 pages for just one day of Alice's life as First Lady. I wanted more to go on in the White House. I was waiting for the whole book to see what would happen between her and Charlie. But nothing. :(

Overall, I give this book a rating of 8 out of 10. Next book is Lock & Key by Sarah Dessen.

Lindsay & Ginger's Session

I recently met with the fabulous Natalie Franke recently and she made me realize that I am going to kick butt and become an amazing and successful photographer. I want to thank her very much for the strong encouragement. It has pushed and I am ready to become successful, or try to at least.
